It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon on the last day of August and I found myself back at the SMX Convention Center to cover “Ninong Ko Si Max” - the first grand inaanak fun day by Max’s Restaurant. It was the global restaurant’s way of reconnecting with its customers all over the Philippines, particularly the children who had their christening celebration at the said restaurant and became Max’s inaanak. I consider myself an adoptive godson as I myself got an invite for this event. hehe…
Kids were all over the function room 5 of SMX, tagged along by parents as they were treated to various activities. I missed the showing of the animated series “Superbook” but got to watch a part of a musical theatre play by Trumpets Playshop. As I walked around I saw several interactive activities that will surely delight kids of all ages. There was even a photo booth section for souvenir shots. I’m pretty sure the over 2,800 participants had a great time.
Back in 2011, the “Ninong Ko Si Max’s” campaign was launched as a way to pay tribute to Ninongs (godfather), an extended member of the family. Max, the man behind Max’s Restaurant was launched as the official godfather of every child who will have their christening reception at a Max’s Restaurant. The promotion entitles the inaanak (godchild) to receive a Christmas and birthday presents from their Ninong Max every year until the age of 7. In addition, they are also privileged to receive delicious freebies like Max’s Corner Bakery’s oven-fresh treats for every store visit with a minimum purchase of Php200. And if they celebrate their 1st and 7th birthday at any Max’s Restaurant in the country, they also get a 15% VIP discounts.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn about this campaign! Having your child’s christening reception at a Max’s Restaurant is value for money as seen on the benefits one can get. We spoke with Mr Bobby Simborio of Max’s from whom we learned that prior to the event, they sent out invites to over 10,000 inaanak. That’s a huge number of children enjoying the benefits of having a Ninong Max!
Ms Ghena Austero, Max’s Marketing Manager for Dine-in, Functions and Events shared, “Max’s Restaurant has celebrated the most important milestones in almost every Filipino family for nearly seven decades. In all these years of sharing treasured memories together, Max’s has played a very important role in strengthening family relationships from generation to generation. With Max’s first Grand Inaanak Fun Day, we want to create a unique and memorable experience that will transcend the tightly-knit family tradition that is inherent among Filipinos.”
“Ninong Ko Si Max’s” is still being offered and will continue to be so in the coming years. I strongly suggest that you have your children’s christening reception at any Max’s Restaurant. No restaurant offers such benefits than they do.
