Dining at Isabelo Garden Restaurant in Marikina was such a great experience. I talked about the ambience and service, now let me talk about the food. There were 11 of us at the table, and I’m sure everyone went home full. My experience is beyond the delicious food on the table. It was actually a dining experience that filled my whole being.
I’ve been full several times. I tasted different kinds of food that’s nothing short of delicious. I love good food and I have my favorites. At the Eats A Date event, we were served quite a number of foods on the table — appetizers, main course and desserts. I enjoyed the Spinach Artichoke Dip that was served first. Then came the Pinoy Tuscan Salad which started to wake me up.
I’m no expert in identifying the ingredients of food so I can’t tell you anything unless it’s very evident. The Pinoy Tuscan Salad has tomatoes with herbs and dressing, served with toasted Pita bread. As it entered my mouth, I felt the refreshing flavor that exploded a certain fragrance in my mouth. It was the first time I ever encountered such a salad. I already have my favorite. Greens with Roasted Vegetables salad, Apple Cranberry Bread and Bacon and Cheese Pizza were also served, but I can’t get over what I tasted.
In a little while, we were ushered in to the main course with Lemon Parsley with Garlic Rice, Family Chicken Feast and Pinugon Pork Crackling. Beef Ribs also landed on our table which became everyone’s favorite except me. The beef was really tender, I agree, but the Pork Crackling was equally tender. Plus I love the fact that it was infused with herbs that complemented the pork. According to Ms. Baluyot, it took 4 hours to cook.
As we draw near the end of the event, desserts were served. First was the Watermelon Sorbet which came with a slice of lemon. Our hostess suggested that we take the sorbet as served and then to squeeze in lemon juice afterwards. The refreshing taste of the watermelon was a welcome treat after all the meat we downed. Squeezing lemon juice over it gave the dessert a different character — an amazing twist! Mango Float and Key Lime Pie also awaits our verdict. For me, I enjoyed the pie over the float. I enjoyed the hint of lemon and the creamy, ice cream like consistency. Ms. Baluyot pointed out that her desserts lean towards the citrus flavor to help cleanse the palate and take away the bloated feeling. This lady sure knows what she’s doing.
I highly recommend Isabelo Garden Restaurant. The foods are really delicious. The serving is enough for everyone to enjoy the rest of the food. They’re also practically priced compared to other restaurants in its category. Prepare for a different dining experience at Isabelo. Everything is worth it, especially the Pinoy Tuscan Salad, the Pinugon Pork Crackling, Watermelon Sorbet and Key Lime Pie. These foods led me to a higher level of dining experience that filled my being. They’re beyond delicious.

Interesting desserts.. I thought desserts should always be sweet, but something citrusy.. hmmm.. I should try that.
It’s actually refreshing. The watermelon helped mask the sour taste of lemon
Given the time, will definitely go to that place…Thanks for sharing…
You’re welcome! The place is also perfect for family gatherings
The food looks good and I’ve been hearing quite a lot of good things about Isabelo already. Too bad I wasn’t able to join this particular Eat’s a Date event. But will definitely put this resto on my bucket list. Maybe it’s a nice place to have a romantic dinner..
Isabelo is highly recommended.

The watermelon Sorbet got my attention. I want to taste it!
It’s really refreshing! And an innovative way of giving the dessert a twist by squeezing lemon juice. Really nice touch
Wow, Pinugon Pork Crackling. That’s like roasted pork, right? I would love to try that. I used to frequent Marikina or stay at my friends’ homes there before and we never really gone out to food trips there. I’ll recommend this resto next time.
Yep, it is roasted pork. You should really try it. Flavorful and soooo tender. Isabelo was actually my first food trip in Marikina and I enjoyed it!
I heard this resto from a friend,
She said it’s really worth-it
You’re friend is right.
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about this resto. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the time to visit it because it’s so far!
You can actually make your visit part of your exploration trip. I mean, I’m sure you’ve been to places farther than Marikina.
I’ve been meaning to try this place for so long, I’m just afraid I’ll get lost in Marikina
You won’t be lost. The street where it’s at is near the shoe museum — a popular spot in Marikina.
The watermelon sorbet looks great. Seems like worth a try. We will pass by there sometime. Cristelle of http://www.girlandboything.com works in Marikina. I think going there will be worth it.
Don’t forget to call first for reservation. Visit their website at http://www.isabelogarden.com/ for more info

Four hours mean flavorful meat cooked to goodness…wow! I’d like to have the sorbet too, sounds good!
Goodness which they were able to achieve -the flavor! The tenderness! I’m craving for just as I recall my experience. The sorbet is definitely a must-try!
I’ve been hearing so much about this resto! (event? hehe) Love that pie, hope I can get to taste that one of these days.
OpenRice.com conducts their food tasting event every week. You should join them on their next stop. Isabelo is a gem worthy to be found. And yes, that key lime pie is simply divine.
