Pound by Todd English Eastwood Mall is Now Open

Finally, Pound by Todd English Eastwood Mall is now open. I’ve been waiting for this to happen because I live nearby. I never had the chance to visit even the Megamall branch despite hearing a lot of good things about their food, particularly their burgers.

The burger scene is growing in the metro, but I have to say that only a handful can give that mouth-watering juicy burgers. Not even a popular fastfood chain from Canada can truly delight my appetite. You can have all the razzle dazzle, but if you don’t have a good patty, then customers are robbed of that eating experience everybody deserves.

The Food at Pound by Todd English

Not with Pound by Todd English. I ordered the Backyard Cheeseburger double patty, along with the Truffle French Beans, and Crispy Goat Cheese Salad. Yes, I had them all for myself. After taking those obligatory shots, I immediately took a bite of the burger and BAM! True beefy goodness flavor filled my mouth. Happy tummy!

I love that despite the Cheddar Cheese, Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato, and Onions which are all fresh, the meaty flavor was not lost in the burger. I want my veggies on my burger, but I don’t want them overpowering the beef patty, which is actually the star of the dish. I learned that all patties at Pound are prepared a certain way which ensures that the flavors are retained.

That’s why you won’t be asked how you want it cooked. And I like it that way, as I don’t want to have to think how it should be. They’re the ones cooking, so they should know the best way of doing it.

I also enjoyed the Truffle French Beans, and Crispy Goat Cheese Salad. The Truffle French Beans is a very good alternative to French Fries. A healthy option to come with your burger. The salad of fresh mixed green, baby tomatoes, deep fried goat cheese, tossed in Raspberry Vinaigrette is refreshingly filling. I just wish there’s more deep fried goat cheese to add more flavor and texture into the dish.

Towards the end of the meal, T.E. Sundae was served. It’s a delightful vanilla ice cream with brownie bits and caramel sauce. This dessert is the perfect way to end the heavy meal.

The place is quite small, and I like it. I am always drawn to small restaurants because it doesn’t get crowded and is more intimate. Even better is you get the staff’s attention quite easily. That’s exactly what you get at Pound by Todd English Eastwood Mall.

I actually like the place. It has a diners vibe, with an upscale look. I love the gold mugs to hold your drink. The place is a bit warmer though. We were told that they’re having issues with the AC. I’m pretty sure they’ll be able to fix it in time.

This is a great deal that I’m actually thinking of getting all the food items because I will only be paying Php300!

But of course, there’s more reason to visit Pound by Todd English Eastwood Mall. Aside from burgers, sides and salads, they also have pastas, pizza, and even a rice meal. It’s a good thing Foodee Global Concepts decided to open their 5th Pound branch near my area. The restaurant is definitely a great addition to Eastwood Mall.
