November 11 was an early Christmas gift-giving for the kids in Manila at the SM City Manila‘s Christmas Launch led by Mayor Alfredo Lim and SM Executives. As the mall kicks off Christmastime in the Philippines with a formal unveiling of their Santa Claus display, they also encourages everyone to give this Yuletide Season. To prove that they practice what they preach, a simple program was held at the shopping center’s Upper Ground Floor area near the entrance where kids from Caritas joined the festivities.
Everyone, including the shoppers passing by were treated to a short program which included Christmas carols. Kids were not left behind too, with Santa Claus, clowns and McDonald’s mascot Birdie.
After the ribbon-cutting and the official lighting of the Santa Claus display, confetti filled the place and the kids started to line up to receive their SM Ecobags filled with treats.

Seeing the kids happy and enjoying is such a heart-warming event. I overheard one of them excitedly commented “May laruan na, may pera pa!” (Trans: We have toys and money!). They also had an opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus.
You too, or your kids can have your photo taken when you shop at SM City Manila. Plus, you also get to give to these kids. This Christmas, customers can help put smiles on children’s faces by purchasing the SM Cares Bears of Joy. For just Php 100, a customer gets to keep one bear and donate another. Bears to be donated will be put on a Christmas tree inside the malls. These cuddly bears are cute and makes a perfect gift!
