RUN AGAINST CANCER is a charity run for indigent cancer patients under the auspices of Corridor of Hope. To be held on 20 April 2013, 4:30AM, at the Bonifacio Global City Grounds in Taguig City, the fundraising event aims to garner support from allied medical practitioners, corporate partners, other cancer support groups, and cancer patients’ families and friends. According to the World Health Organization, cancer remains to be a leading cause of death worldwide. In 2008, it accounted for 7.6 million deaths (around 13% of all deaths). Around 70% of all cancer deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries. A February 2012 report from the World Health Organization predicted that deaths from cancer worldwide will continue to rise to over 13.1 million in 2030.
