Rapoo M100 Silent Multi-Mode Mouse Review
I received a Rapoo M100 Silent Multi-mode Mouse Wednesday last week. I have to be honest, when I saw it, I didn’t get excited. First, I don’t really feel the need for it because I use a laptop with a trackpad that I can work with pretty well. Second, I already own one, the thing that is shaped like a pen, which I seldom use. Third, at first glance, there’s nothing to be excited about because it looks plain. I asked myself, “What’s new?.”
I’ve been really busy with a lot of work to do aside from blogging. As a matter of fact, I almost missed some deadlines. As I work in front of my laptop, I remembered the Rapoo mouse sitting somewhere on my table. I immediately retrieved it from its clear plastic packaging and gave it another look.
It looked like other mouse alright, but a closer inspection made me appreciate the styling Rapoo had on this wireless peripheral. The sides has groove patterns that makes it easy to handle. My hand sits perfectly on top which is curved naturally.
The underside of Rapoo M100 is the on/off switch, bluetooth button, and battery cover. Yes, it’s battery-powered and the one I received has one installed. That’s a good touch because it allowed me to use the mouse immediately. There’s a slot for the USB receiver/dongle under the cover as well.
The Rapoo M100 Silent Multi-mode Mouse is a plug-and-play device. Although the documentation that came with the unit instructs to press the bluetooth button found under it, I didn’t have to go through the process. I just plugged the USB receiver in and voila!
Experience Silence with the Rapoo M100 Silent
Again, I just have a lot of things to do so after plugging it in, I proceeded with what I’m doing. I even forgot that there’s a mouse plugged in to my computer.
With that realization, I quickly grabbed the mouse and clicked an item. For a moment there, I felt something. It’s silent, but I felt something! Isn’t that weird?
No sound was emitted when clicking the left and right buttons, even when turning the scrolling wheel. But there’s something satisfying when clicking the buttons of the Rapoo M100 Silent Multi-mode Mouse. It’s somehow telling me to be still, relax. It’s funny that a mouse can do that, but I swear it did, haha!
And that was the beginning of a romance. If you want a sense of stillness in your chaotic world, I highly recommend this small computer peripheral. You may think this is irrelevant at all, but it’s a fact that noise adds stress. Sure it’s not a mute button to your world, but a little goes a long way.
I searched for the price and saw the M100 Silent sold at different price point. But for less than a thousand bucks, you have a reliable mouse that minimize noise and aids you with stress. That’s value for money for me.
I’m using the Rapoo M100 Silent on my MacBook Pro, and I’m pretty sure it’ll work seamlessly on your Windows-based system. It claims to be able to switch between Bluetooth 3.0, 4.0, and 2.4G (that’s why they call it multi-mode). I can’t attest to that claim, but I’m sure whatever system you have will work with it seamlessly.
One thing I also liked is that I can work with it on surfaces that I didn’t think will. I can work without a mousepad, navigating with the mouse on wood, or even with paper. And because the Rapoo M100 Silent Multi-mode Mouse is light, I don’t have to worry about adding additional weight to my already heavy laptop bag.
