Wok The Walk – the Old Manila Walks

Old Manila Walks

Summer is not yet over despite the recent typhoon that hit us. Not if we can help it. We’ve experienced some rain showers in the past days, but I’m pretty sure we still have plans set for the days to come. If you’re in for something different, you should try the Old Manila Walks‘ Binondo Food Wok. The Binondo Food Wok is actually a walking tour of Binondo — the country’s China Town. You say it should be “walk” and not “wok”? Wait a minute. There’s something in there that you should know. This is not just your ordinary walking tour. Aside from visiting key places, you also get to enjoy delicacies that makes it a unique experience. That’s right, you eat while you walk. I joined this tour way back in 2007 with some of my colleagues. This was sort of a team building activity as we end an ...

Inspired by Oscar’s Summit

I love to read, and what I enjoy most are short articles about career, business, food, technology, lifestyle and everything in between. Back in the days when the Internet is still unknown, I would buy magazines of all sorts, depending on what I fancy. At one point I collected computer magazines when I was so into it. I would read them anywhere I get the chance. In fact, I learned to enjoy traffic because I get to read more while inside the bus or jeep. Recently, I noticed stacks of business and food magazines scattered in my living room, dining area and bedroom. Good thing the Internet is now very accessible. I can now read articles about the latest gadgets through tech blogs and reviews. Thank goodness for all these blogs and review sites. Without access to these, I’m sure my wall is lined with stacks of different magazines. Reading ...

The S-Factor Baby! Samsung Notebook Series 9

Do you have the curves and a slim waist line? Or maybe you have the muscles and that washboard abs. If you do, then you’re sexy. But it’s more than what’s outside that makes one sexy. That’s the truth, no matter how cliché that may sound. Your attitude and the way you carry yourself creates your personality. And a great personality is truly sexy. Now you can add more sexiness to your life. Technology leader Samsung recently launched the newest line of notebook computers dubbed as Sexy PC. I’m a laptop person. No matter how great the specs of a desktop computer may be, I would still go for a laptop. But because I almost always bring my laptop with me, I always preferred one that is not so big and heavy. A 15-incher is a no-no. My first was an 11-incher, moved to a 13-incher, but now carry one ...

Maximized Viewing Pleasure

Having experienced the technology in Samsung Smart TV, I can’t help but rave about it and dream of owning one. It’s not just a television, rather an integrated entertainment system — an advanced one at that. There’s a lot of things that I can do with this TV. One that continues to amaze me is it’s capability to convert a 2D content to 3D. The people behind this lovely appliance is in touch with the reality that 3D content is not readily available in the market. Hence, it is just fitting to create such technology where one can enjoy three dimensional viewing pleasure even if you’re watching ordinary content. With that in mind, I wanted to share my thoughts on Things that I can do with a Samsung Smart TV, highlighting this feature. Some notes about the video. I feel that there’s no better way to show how high-tech this ...

BLOGGER’S Treat – The Samsung Smart TV Sneak Peek

April 7th was a treat for me as Samsung Philippines revealed the latest Samsung SMART TV offering to a group of bloggers at The Lounge of Seventh High, Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. I was fortunate to get an invite, and so I braved the unknown that day. Unknown, because I’m not familiar with the place. The Fort Bonifacio Global City, despite it’s awesomeness, is not one of my most frequented place, so I don’t know how to find the venue. Thank goodness for Google Maps, and the relatively helpful links to Seventh High. Unknown, because I don’t know what to expect. Fine, it’s all about television alright, and I’ve seen all those drool-worthy Samsung flat screen TV at the mall, but I didn’t really pay attention. Up I go to the 2nd floor of Seventh Heaven and entered a sophisticated place — The Lounge — with two huge Samsung ...

Rewarding Rewards

With prices of everything going up these days, I’m sure we’re all looking for ways to save and stretch our money to the last centavos. Now I realize I have to get my own SM Advantage Card to earn points. Quite frankly, I didn’t really bother to own one until only recently. I’ve had my SM Advantage Card way back in 2004, but I never got to use it. I rarely shop at SM because the items are either too common or not meeting my needs. But when the grocery store opened in our area, things changed. Still, I didn’t bother getting my Advantage card despite being asked several times by the cashier if I would want to get one. I will. Soon. Today, I got an SMS from Globe informing me that the points earned via myRewards myGlobe program in 2010 can be claimed until April 17th. I was ...

Flashbacks with The Social Network

A scene in The Social Network

Nearly 24 hours after watching the special premiere of The Social Network at Greenbelt 3 Cinema 1 courtesy of NuffnangPH and PLDT myDSL, scenes and ideas from my past are creeping up to my memory bank. This brain activity was actually a continuation from the time that I was watching the movie until I’m on a bus ride on my way home. And it’s just not me… my cousin, who was with me at the premiere, also experienced such activity. I’m sure everyone knows what The Social Network movie is all about. It received much attention in Hollywood; despite that, I thought it’s just another movie. Then came the opportunity to watch it, free. When I received an email broadcast from NuffnangPH about their latest treat, I was not excited. But for lack of nothing to do, I gave it a shot by blogging about it. As the deadline for ...

Nuffnang and PLDT myDSL Special Screening

Forget about the past and seize the opportunities of the present. And that’s what I am exactly doing with this post. I’m letting go of not being able to join the first preview offered by Nuffnang and take advantage of this one. Nuffnang, Asia-Pacific’s first blog advertising community and PLDT, the Philippine’s telecom giant partnered for a special screening of The Social Network. This is a very interesting movie that I’d love to watch. I’m sure it’ll be filled with gold nuggets of ideas on how to succeed. I will definitely need those as I aim for global domination for my laptop bag line – Tough Brat Bags. Much like facebook, I do business online 100% of the time. Being an online seller for 2 years now (Yes, we celebrated our 2nd year this October), I succeeded in my online venture because of social networking. Including facebook. I am on ...

One Summer Escapade at the Coffee Farmhouse

The Coffee Farm House

The temperature keeps getting higher. The El Niño phenomenon has taken center stage in the news once again. There’s no denying, summer is here. Pretty soon, we’ll all be clamoring for that summer escapade. Let me share some of my previous summer experience. Let me start with… The Coffee Farmhouse The name says it all — a coffee farmhouse. But the place is more than just a farmhouse. Yes, it has a bed of coffee bushes, but it offers more. It’s one great summer destination that can be all yours, even for just a moment in summer. Quietly nestled in peaceful Tagaytay, the Coffee Farmhouse offers a homey atmosphere. It’s like living in your own rest house. You can stay in the main house or in one of its guesthouses. These accommodations can house guests whether big or small. The rooms are well-ventilated and equipped with beds that will make you sleep ...
