It’s March already and the National Digital Arts Awards 2014 call for entries has just begun. The last time we blogged about the NDAA was about the 2013 winning entries and how grand the much-anticipated NDAA 2014 would be. Time flew so fast that the Philippines’ biggest award-giving body recognizing the country’s top digital artists has started accepting entries.
National Digital Arts Awards: Redefine, Recreate, Revolutionize is the theme to be interpreted. Of course, the works of art should be innovative. If you intend to participate in this year’s National Digital Arts Awards (I recommend you should if you’re a digital artist), your work should be original and fresh. This is the chance to showcase the ideas that you feel the industry has yet to present. Whether you’re a student or a professional, your digital artwork should prove that you’re really good at what you do, meaning that the work should be refined and not of the amateurish kind. After all, the NDAA is all about excellence. The message you’re trying to convey should be loud and clear when seen even by non-artists, the intended audience. Lastly, the entry to be submitted should exhibit the positive aspect of the Philippines and the interpretation of the current theme.
National Digital Arts Awards: Redefine, Recreate, Revolutionize. Let’s dissect the words of the NDAA 2014 theme. Redefine is about change and where it actually begins. Looking at the current state of the country in general, there’s a lot of topics to take on, some more controversial than the other. Is there a way that we can make a difference? That’s where Recreate comes in. And as an artist, how can you rally everyone to take on such change? Revolutionize yourself as an artist to be an advocate of change.
