The Ty Family-led companies Metrobank and GT Capital Holdings Inc through the Metrobank Foundation and GT Foundation released Php8 million funds for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs). This support initiative will directly aid the fight against COVID-19 and for the benefit of healthcare frontliners.
Php5 million worth of PPEs, which include hazardous material suits, face shields, N95 masks, gloves, and shoe covers, were donated to two (2) COVID-19 Referral Centers namely the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) and Lung Center of the Philippines. Another 2000 sets were donated to the City Government of Manila, through the Office of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso. The donation is part of the P200 million pledge by Metrobank and GT Capital Holdings Group in support of the efforts to combat COVID-19. As our country battles for the pandemic, hearing these acts of kindness gives me hope that we can all do this. Here’s hoping for more support for the cause from the public and private sectors.
