Kian Dionisio, GMA Records’ New Artist

GMA Records recently introduced its newest recording artist, Kian Dionisio at a blogcon for his latest EP. The unassuming acoustic singer/songwriter performed the songs on his record.

“Ako Na Lang Ulit” can definitely give you an LSS.

“Pa Fall” is Kian’s first single. He shared that the song was inspired by a gay friend who kept falling for guys who are “pa-fall.”

The UE Alumni shared that he started playing at music bars and restaurants after college. At one point, he recalls that one of his gigs led him to singing 45 songs in one engagement. He laughs it off but points out he can no longer perform as much.

Kian Dionisio can actually impersonate voices of various artists singing such as Michael Jackson, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Nyoy Volante and Jimmy Bondoc. At the blogger’s conference, he gave us snippets of his singing ala Jimmy Bondoc and Janno Gibbs. Will be sharing the videos on this blog soon.

GMA Recording Artist Kian DionisioThe acoustic singer was one of the 60 chosen talented individuals to join for the 5th annual “Elements Music Camp,” a singing and songwriting camp which is being led no less by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. The recording artist shared that the Singing Songwriting Camp improved his songwriting skills.

Watch out for the rising talent of GMA Records. He has done guestings on TV such as TIMS (This is My Story) with Jungee Marcelo and “That’s My Amboy” where he performed “Pa Fall.” He also guested on radio, MOR 101.9 For Life, PinasFM 95.5 and RetroFM. I’m sure the recording outfit has other guestings in store for Kian.

I personally love Kian Dionisio’s singing. During the interview at the blogcon, he shared that he’d prefer singing his own compositions because he knows the emotions behind them. True enough, he performs from the heart and you can feel that. Although his latest EP showcases those “hugot” songs, I’m sure he’ll be tackling other topics as he matures in his singing and songwriting. Let’s support our local artists, like Kian.
