Leading clothing brand Giordano celebrates 25th anniversary in the Philippines with a fashion show and a concert with a circus theme. I had the opportunity to have witnessed the fashion show and some performances but had missed the concert led by music icon and Giordano ambassador Rico Blanco. I had to leave early because of a very early commitment the following day. Despite omitting the concert, I did enjoy the start of Giordano Circus 25th Anniversary Party at the Eastwood Mall Open Park.
Around the venue, there are booths where guests can play classic circus games such as Basket Toss, Something Fishy, Tumble Me and Ring O’ Bottle, among others. There were also a fortune-telling booth and mechanical bull riding. Guests also enjoyed performances by classic circus characters such as clowns, mimes, stilt walkers, magicians, lion man, uni-cyclists, and many more.
I didn’t get to explore most of the circus booth but came just in time for the main event. The show started with circus performances such as acrobatic acts and a gaudy performance just like in Las Vegas. Then the Giordano 2014 Fall/Winter collection show started. Classic, perfect-for-the-chilly-weather pieces like oxford shirts, Breton tops, long-sleeved tees, denim, khakis and polos were paraded on the runway and worn by top models Ria Bolivar, Jasmine Maierhofer and Justine Gabionza. Award-winning fashion show director Ogee Atos took the shows reins while stylist Charmaine Palermo and makeup artist Lourd Ramos made up and styled the models.
Giordano Philippines’ CEO and President Mr Larry Lim went up the stage at the end of the fashion show. “We thank everyone who celebrated this milestone with us. Giordano has evolved so much over the past two decades, and Filipinos have been a huge part of the brand’s success. When Giordano first opened here in the country, we never thought that we would sign on celebrities, much more a song composed by Rico Blanco,” said Mr Lim. “We look forward to the next two decades and more, and our customers can expect more timeless and classic pieces from us in our future collections,” he added.
I stayed for a while for the concert to watch Brownman Revival perform but did miss Franco and Rico Blanco. Congratulations to Giordano! I have always enjoyed the casual clothes of this fashion brand and as Giordano celebrates 25th anniversary, they continue to be a favorite. I like what I saw in the men’s line during the fashion show and will definitely drop by their stores to shop.
