Big-Time Satisfaction with Wendy’s Big Burger – the BBQnator

Wendy's BBQnator

Wendy’s Hamburgers is synonymous to huge burgers with veggies, cheese, and a beef patty or two that are not common in fast food joints. Last Thursday, I had the chance to enjoy their latest offering – the BBQnator. This burger is Wendy’s Philippines‘ latest signature burger with 2 beef patties, 6 strips of smoked bacon and 2 slices of cheese topped with onion rings made, with Hickory Barbecue sauce — all sandwiched by Kaiser buns. The ingredients is a mouthful I know, but so is Wendy’s BBQnator. The patties are beefy and juicy; the onion rings are sweet; the Hickory sauce made everything special. I enjoyed it! Wendy’s BBQnator is really for those with huge appetite like me. I love that I’m not left wanting after eating this mouth-watering burger. It’s a perfect indulgence for this season as we treat ourselves and indulge in the festivities. It really is a ...

The Best Boodle Feast only at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island

I Am Ninoy Boodle Feast - Blackbeard Seafood Island Robinsons Magnolia Mall

The original and the best boodle feast can only be found at Blackbeard’s Seafood Island. I have been to their different branches and had a gastronomic experience with their wide selection of Filipino dishes. Last Sunday, December 3, I was invited to the grand opening of their 22nd branch located at Robinsons Magnolia. After the ceremony, I was able to check out the restaurant and realized that the look is a total departure from their other branches. The ones I’ve been too has that pirate ship look. This branch has that vibrant summer look. Then I learned that the restaurant is actually revamping their look. After all, they are celebrating their 8th year in the business this 2012. It is indeed a fitting transformation. But one thing that did not change is good food. The moment the foods were served, we can’t help but get excited as we smell the ...

Have a Break at Dimsum Break

Steamed Dimum at Dimsum Break SM City North Edsa Annex

When roaming the city and you found yourself at SM City North Edsa, you can have a break at Dimsum Break. This newly opened restaurant at the 3rd level of The Annex is actually the first branch in Metro Manila, boasting a good track record in Cebu. I was privilege to have attended the media launch a few weeks ago where I learned that this quick-service restaurant actually traces its roots from Cebu. Launched in 1996, Dimsum Break already has a strong following at the Queen City of South and some friends who’s been to Cebu testifies to this fact. The restaurant executives were present at the event who shared that they have long wanted to expand in Metro Manila. It was only recently that they found confidence that they can withstand the competition. As they say, the proof in the pudding is the eating and had the chance to ...

Passion for Tea – SIP Milk Tea Passion Fruit

Yahoo!! for Passionfruit Tea - SIP Milk Tea

No doubt, I am now hooked with SIP Milk Tea. Who wouldn’t? The Cubao branch is just near my place, and the drinks are really good. Plus I am aware of their passion for tea. I passed by the tea shop the other night coming from an appointment and decided to order food and drink to go.I already had their signature drinks – Mango Cheesecake Tea and Caramel Mesteazo. It’s about time to have something toned down, a simple drink. I checked out their menu and decided to order Passion Fruit Tea. FYI, those items with bumblebee characters are their bestsellers. If you’re a new customer, you won’t be lost which one to order because SIP Milk Tea made a point to be proactive by taking note of what customers are likely to enjoy. How thoughtful! But of course, the crew manning the order counter would be more than glad ...

Pure Milk Tea Pleasure – SIP Milk Tea’s Caramel Mesteazo

SIP Milk Tea Caramel Mesteazo

Last week, I shared my recent chilled drink discovery — Cheesecake Tea by SIP Milk Tea. I was so in love with this concoction that when I learned they also have a branch at Robinson’s Galleria, I searched the entire mall to buy me a drink when I went to the mall this week. I thought I will be disappointed because I can’t seem to find the place. I was so glad to find this milk tea shop at the 2nd floor near the escalator. I went in and ordered one of their signature drinks – the Caramel Mesteazo with Coffee Jelly topper. A play of words, SIP Milk Tea‘s Mesteazo drink is a blend of green milk tea and flavored black tea. Basing it from the Caramel Mesteazo that I ordered, the lower half part of the drink is the black tea flavored with caramel while the upper half ...

Pinoy Master Grill – an Emerging Pinoy Fastfood Joint

Restaurants offering grilled dishes are a dime in a dozen these days. Unfortunately, only a few can really maintain the quality of food at an affordable price. While some stood out, their appeal fizzled out for me. Pinoy Master Grill wants to fill that space by offering affordable and delicious grilled dishes. I had the chance to visit their newest branch, the 2nd one at Lagro in Quezon City on November 10th along with other bloggers. On our way to the restaurant, one blogger shared her dining experience at the restaurant’s first branch located along Taft Avenue in Manila. From what I’ve gathered, this is going to be a good food tasting experience. After a long drive from Ortigas Center, we arrived at the Quezon City Branch. I was tired and hungry, not to mention sleepy because I went straight from work. Pinoy Master Grill can be easily spotted by ...

A Taste of Portugal at Peri-Peri Grill House

Peri-Peri Hot Grilled Chicken at Peri-Peri Grill House

My recent visit at the Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan accidentally led me to a food tasting at Peri-Peri Grill House with some friends. Peri-Peri proudly claims to offer Portuguese-styled cooking particularly in their grilled chicken. I’ve seen their branch at SM City North Edsa, read reviews about their food, but never had the chance to dine despite being in business since 2005. Are you curious already? Read on as I get to share my  experience that led to a taste of Portugal at Peri-Peri Grill House. The star of the show is Peri-Peri Chicken, spit-fire grilled with the African-Portuguese spice mix imported all the way from Africa. The whole chicken comes with a gravy. The chicken itself is moist all over, possibly because it was basted with their special seasoning while cooking. The chicken is tender, juicy and flavorful. The one served to our group is the “hot” variation. At ...

Have a Cake and Sip it Too – SIP Cheesecake Tea

Creamy Cheesecake Tea - Sip Milk Tea New Farmers Plaza

Nope, I did not make a mistake. I am aware of the idiomatic expression “Have one’s cake and eat it too” but that’s not what I mean. I’m referring to my latest drink discovery — Cheesecake Tea by SIP Milk Tea. I happen to be at this new tea shop at the 3rd floor of New Farmer’s Plaza in Cubao, Quezon City. The place is quite spacious unlike other stores offering similar drinks. And the line at the order counter is quite long. One that really stood out for me was the Cheesecake Tea and ordered one in mango variety. As I waited at the seating area, I can’t help but notice how busy their staff are, working on the orders. I love the fact that their kitchen area is open for everyone to see. I also love their interior – clean white walls, blue accents and yellow chairs. It’s ...

Affordable Gourmet Food from The Sandwich Guy

Check out the oozing cheese! at The Sandwich Guy - SM The Block

Gourmet sandwiches are usually found in restaurants with a hefty price tag. But with the quality of bread and filling, not to mention the taste, I would end up having them because I know I will be satisfied. There’s one restaurant offering a wide range of gourmet sandwiches at Glorietta. Unfortunately, I no longer see them at their original location. As a matter of fact, I no longer see them in places I’ve been to. Too bad because the food are really delicious. Then came The Sandwich Guy, which I noticed in an open space at SM Megamall. I have been planning to give it a try, but the very open ambiance discourages me. But one Sunday of October, after going to an event at SM The Block, I was so hungry that I found myself ordering food at TSG. The place at SM The Block is relatively bigger than ...
