Looking for a place to have a good time after a long day? Murray’s New Orleans Robinsons Magnolia is sure to take care of all that every Thursday night. That’s because the doctor is in with sultry Madrigettes. Don’t be misled, you naughty boy you! I’m just referring to one of Murray’s New Orleans themed night offering. It’s a fun night for all the doctors, nurses, students and individuals in the medical field at the restaurant bar’s Robinsons Magnolia branch. And to make things more fun, make sure to order your MardiDocs Cocktails which is interesting even to non-medical affiliated customers like me. The Clawing Continues at ClawDaddy Robinsons Magnolia

ClawDaddy Restaurant

I have been to ClawDaddy Restaurants’ other branches and was quite familiar with their American dishes which I always enjoyed. I looked forward to having the same experience when I recently visited ClawDaddy Robinsons Magnolia. One thing I noticed with every ClawDaddy restaurant that I’ve been to is the different vibe, not a cookie cutter look. The Robinsons Magnolia branch has a slightly dim lighting and I like the inverted boat hanging on the ceiling. The chairs are nice too, complementing their all-red walls decorated with frames of various kind. We started with the Classic Gumbo. It’s like a soup, only thicker and strong in flavor. It’s got some rice, okra, meat, bell pepper, etc. It was my first time to taste a Gumbo dish and I liked it; I know I could finish off a bowl of this dish.  Fried Fisherman’s Platter came along, with Shrimp Fry, Crispy Calamari, ...

Unique Concoctions at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt

Salted Caramel Pinkberry with Chocolate Crisps, Bananas and Italian Caramel

Another growing sector of the Philippine dining scene is frozen yogurt. Last week, not only did I get to taste unique concoctions at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop, I also got to create them myself! Along with other bloggers, I was invited to a food tasting at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop at Greenbelt 5 and the experience was fun! Pinkberry is actually an international brand, with 2 branches in the metro, the other being at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. Aside from the Philippines, it has branches across the United States, Canada, Morocco, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE and the United Kingdom. It was my first time to visit a Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop, hence, I’m not familiar with their offerings. Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by their huge order counter with a wide range of premium toppings.  When all the guests arrived and settled in, ...

Discovering Jelly-G Thai Milk Tea

Jelly-G Cheesy Mango

Working from home, at times I find myself wanting to go out and stay at a place I can do my task for a different ambiance. It’s a good thing that coffee shops have proliferated all the metro. The problem is, these establishments are sometimes filled with people. That leaves me with no place to sit in or the it’s too noisy I can concentrate on my tasks. My alternative are milk tea shops that is also gaining popularity in the country. But not all milk tea shops are equipped with the facilities that I need. So when I got an invite to discover Jelly-G Thai Milk Tea, I gave it a go. I have to admit I’m quite hesitant because the Jelly-G branch near my place inside Ali Mall in Cubao is just a kiosk. The branch I visited is located along Shaw Boulevard, inside 500 Shaw Centrum Mall. ...

A Power Place for a Power Lunch – Chops Chicago Steakhouse

Chops Chicago Steakhouse USDA Prime Black Angus Dry Aged

Business meetings over lunch or dinner is common to executives. There are various reasons to this kind of meeting. But whether to gain a guest’s or guests’ favor, to celebrate success or to simply chit chat, it’s always held at a high-caliber restaurant. Expensive but good food with nice ambiance and a sense of exclusivity are notable of these places. I recently discovered a similar place, a power place for a power lunch – Chops Chicago Steakhouse.Located at the 4th Level of Greenbelt 5 in Makati, the steakhouse is sort of hidden from the crowd. The topmost floor of the mall is not where most of the shops located, hence, not much foot traffic. That’s a good thing for customers who wants privacy in a meeting. Entering the restaurant, one can tell that this is not your ordinary place to dine. Nice ambiance, very business-like, expensive even. I love the ...

Comfort Foods and Old Favorites with a Twist at Manilabake

Manilabake - Calamansi Cupcakes (P70)

Once in a while I get a chance to while my time away with friends, especially over great food. Last Saturday was one of those days, dining with blogger friends and discovering comfort foods and old favorites with a twist at Manilabake. This bakery cafe was established by Serye Cafe Filipino on July 2012. Located along Katipunan Avenue, the place is close to where I live but it looks like I’ve been too busy that I missed it. I’m glad I learned about Manilabake by Serye Cafe Filipino. The cafe started off as a bakery where one simply drops by to buy bread and other goodies. Offering breads, cakes, pies and other pastries that are considered heritage recipes made the traditional way is interesting. From the looks of it, foodies caught on as Manilabake evolved into a small cafe offering not only baked goodies but meals as well. The place ...

Blackbeard’s Seafood Island Opens at Harbor Point Mall in Subic

Seafood Bonding Extreme with Boodle Feast

One Saturday morning, on December 22nd to be exact, I went to Subic with some bloggers. It was my second time this year, the first was in rainy August. We were invited as Blackbeard’s Seafood Island opens at Harbor Point Mall. This is also my 2nd time to be at the Harbor Point Mall and I love the airy feel of this mall owned and operated by Ayala Mall. Ideal for a laidback lifestyle in the province. The restaurant is big, and is set up for huge crowds. It’s perfect for bonding with family and friends who will definitely enjoy the Boodle Feast offered by Blackbeard’s Seafood island. After the formal blessing, everyone got settled in their own spot. The place is brimming with people and so I decided to just sit after taking some pictures. We did have our own feast as various Boodle dishes were laid down in ...

Enjoy Good Food at Figaro Market! Market!

Meaty Lasagna at Figaro Market! Market!

Shoppers at Market! Market! in Taguig will definitely go hungry going through all the shops in the mall. Good thing there’s Figaro Coffee Company, conveniently located at the mall’s 4th level, near Food Choices. Figaro Market! Market! is definitely a welcome treat for everyone looking to enjoy good food. When I step in to Figaro’s space, it feels like entering a time-space warp zone. The dark wooden floors, beams and pillars exudes the warmth I usually find in their stand-alone restaurants. It’s amazing how the franchise owner maintained the Italian/European ambiance despite the kiosk setup. Of course, Italian-inspired food is what makes dining at Figaro a treat. They offer different pasta dishes and one of my favorite is Pasta ala Carlo. But this time I ordered one of the restaurant’s latest offering – Meaty Lasagna. As the name suggests, it is meaty with generous serving of ground beef in between ...

Big-Time Satisfaction with Wendy’s Big Burger – the BBQnator

Wendy's BBQnator

Wendy’s Hamburgers is synonymous to huge burgers with veggies, cheese, and a beef patty or two that are not common in fast food joints. Last Thursday, I had the chance to enjoy their latest offering – the BBQnator. This burger is Wendy’s Philippines‘ latest signature burger with 2 beef patties, 6 strips of smoked bacon and 2 slices of cheese topped with onion rings made, with Hickory Barbecue sauce — all sandwiched by Kaiser buns. The ingredients is a mouthful I know, but so is Wendy’s BBQnator. The patties are beefy and juicy; the onion rings are sweet; the Hickory sauce made everything special. I enjoyed it! Wendy’s BBQnator is really for those with huge appetite like me. I love that I’m not left wanting after eating this mouth-watering burger. It’s a perfect indulgence for this season as we treat ourselves and indulge in the festivities. It really is a ...
