An Eye Popping Attraction — the SM MOA EYE

There’s a new attraction in town at the SM Mall of Asia. It’s the tallest and biggest Ferris Wheel in the Philippines — the SM MOA EYE! I have been hearing about it, but my eyes popped when I saw it. Inspired by Singapore Flyer and England’s the London Eye, this Ferris Wheel measures 55 meters in diameter. It has 36 fully-airconditioned gondolas and can accommodate 6 persons per gondola. Talk about convenience! I also learned that it also has 6 VIP gondolas that can be rented out for special occasion. That’s pretty interesting. I was at the SM By the Bay Amusement Park last December 16th to witness the lighting ceremony of this giant ride which was hosted by the beautiful Phoemela Barranda and attended by SM Prime Holdings executives, the media and guests. It was really exciting to see this newest tourist destination in the country come to ...

Puss in Boots – A Movie Review

Cute and Lovable Puss in Boots

Yesterday, I had the chance to be invited at the red carpet premiere of DreamWorks’ latest animation flick Puss In Boots at the IMAX Theatre of SM City North Edsa. I was so excited but was not expecting anything more than a regular screening. I had a chance to watch Real Steel at the same venue, but it was not in 3D. This time it’s different! The 3D glasses were handed to us as we enter the cinema. Oh boy was I thrilled! The story is actually set prior to Puss in Boots meeting Shrek and Donkey. This was the time when he is full of good moral character who protected the innocent — a hero. This is not the story I grew up with, having remembered the fairy tale story I read in my childhood. I would have wanted to see how the original story was portrayed on screen. ...

Cowboys & Aliens: A Story of Greed, Kindheartedness, Revenge & Unity

Last August 10, I watched Cowboys & Aliens courtesy of Nuffnang Philippines and Pizza Hut. It was one of my most anticipated event having heard some buzz about the movie. I’m also a Harrison Ford fan — not having seen him on the big screen for quite sometime, this would be a good opportunity to watch one of my favorite Hollywood actors on the big screen. There I was seated among fellow bloggers enjoying the story of greed, kindheartedness, revenge and unity in a western-sci fi movie. Contrary to my impression of the movie, this is actually a Daniel Craig movie more than Ford’s. Although they shared a few scenes throughout the movie, James Bond has more screen time than Indiana Jones. I’m not complaining. It’s just that the movie sought to capitalize on Harrison Ford’s popularity and downplayed Daniel Craig’s. I love the movie from start to finish. Just ...
