Don’t be misled, you naughty boy you! I’m just referring to one of Murray’s New Orleans themed night offering. Every Thursday night, you’ll find the restaurant bar’s personnel garbed in a nurse’s uniform, even a food server with a stethoscope around her neck. It’s a fun night for all the doctors, nurses, students and individuals in the medical field at the restaurant bar’s Robinsons Magnolia branch. And to make things more fun, make sure to order your MardiDocs Cocktails which is interesting even to non-medical affiliated customers like me.

These are cocktail mixes in interesting receptacles. You’ll find test tubes filled with Jager laced with absinthe. A baby feeding bottle filled with Baileys. I wanted to try Brain Damage but they said it’s already out. I had Poison instead. I suddenly want to call the doctor, but realized they’re off duty.

I’m not really into hard drinks. Good thing there’s food which helped me neutralize the alcohol. We had the every dependable Sisig, or what Murray’s New Orleans would call it, the New Orleans Masquerade – a serving of minced grilled pork mask and chicken livers sizzled with onion, bell peppers and fresh chilies flavored with Creole spices. Really delicious. My favorite is the Blackened Chicharones – it’s homemade air dried pork belly, deep fried and tossed in blackened spice mix served with malt vinegar – it’s crispy, flavorful and meaty!

As we enjoy the good food, drinks and great company, we enjoyed good entertainment. While we chilled and even sung along with the band, the evening suddenly became more lively and fun as The Mardigrettes danced on stage. These dancers are actually Murray’s New Orleans staff who works as a receptionist, bar maid, cashier and server. They transform into gorgeous ladies as they all get dolled up for clean fun dancing like the happenings at the Mardi Gras. Exclusively from New Orleans, the Megarita takes the classic margarita to new heights. Served with the most deliciously refreshing alcoholic concoction that not is only delightful to taste but also to the eyes as it’s served in a massive glass.
