Avida and Kubular Showcases the Art of Sensibly Designed Living

Art In Space Exhibit by Avida Land and KubularIn a two-week exhibit that features the beauty of creative interior, Avida Land and Kubular unveiled “Art in Space.” The project is the first collaboration between Avida and Kubular. During the unveiling, it was very clear why the partnership happened.

Kubular is a furniture design firm from the people behind the apparel brand Team Manila. As an advocate of sensible and inspired living, I’m not surprised that Avida tapped the furniture firm. The exhibit at the Avida showroom in Glorietta 4 features furniture pieces that I instantly fell in love with.

Art In Space showcases never-before-seen pieces from Kubular’s newest collection. Four setups were revealed at the opening event: the living room, the entertainment center, the DJ booth and the display area. Kubular’s furniture designs carry an industrial, Scandinavian feel—straightforward elements like wood and steel bent into cubes and grids to make furniture that are aesthetically and functionally-designed. Their credo is to create design that is contemporary, flexible and sustainable, with each piece having the ability to add character to a space.

Kubular Lightstyle CollectionCalled “LightStyle Collection,” Kubular’s second collection features cream-colored Birch wood as primary material as light-colored wood elements are essential to complement our busy surroundings. The collection focuses on five pieces:

Stephen is an archival crate-inspired wood and metal plant stand Stephen, an archival crate-inspired wood and metal plant stand that can work for indoors or outdoors—anywhere you want to give a cozy and inviting feel.

Max is a multi-purpose storage for the home entertainment systemMax, a multi-purpose storage for the home entertainment system—the combination of Birch, dark metal and bright orange casters marries sleek style and function.

Victor is a minimalist, modern coffee table featuring a smooth rectangular silhouette with the collection’s signature black industrial metal handle and bright orange castersVictor, a minimalist, modern coffee table featuring a smooth rectangular silhouette with the collection’s signature black industrial metal handle and bright orange casters.

Theo is a wider version of the Stephen fits twice more—it’s a craftly-made piece that can be used to display plants, or sleekly hold books and recordsTheo, a wider version of the Stephen fits twice more—it’s a craftly-made piece that can be used to display plants, or sleekly hold books and records.

Each piece is also mounted on casters for flexibility and easy movability. I’ve also seen some pieces from Kubular’s first collection and can’t help but drool.Kubular's first collection

Kubular’s showroom is located in San Antonio Makati. The village is also where Avida Land’s projects are located – Avida Towers Asten and the newest Makati development, One Antonio.  Avida, aims to give guests a taste of the unique lifestyle in San Antonio Makati with this collaboration. The residential Makati village features a wealth of hidden gems and rare finds in the form of quaint shops, galleries such as Suez and Zapote, and interesting cuisine seamlessly integrated into the village’s creative residential community.

We want to provide what is essential to their lifestyle—pieces that are of good quality, functional, modern, and sustainable.”

“All the furniture you see here aren’t aspirational—they’re accessible. You can purchase them and take them home to improve your own space after the show. Innovation doesn’t have to be just aspirational. That’s what Kubular and Avida stand for,” adds Mon Punzalan of Kubular.

Art in Space also showcases new releases from Team Manila and Suez & Zapote, an independent space that features diverse applications of art and design through its main medium, silkscreen printing. The exhibit will run until June 30, 2016. Items on display are also available for sale. For more information, please visit avidaland.com.
