GRIPS Hair Styling Products and Fiona Colognes by Skintec

A little over a week ago, I received a pack of products for review – Grips Hair Styling Products and Fiona Colognes by Skintec. To be quite honest, I stopped using gels and other hair styling products because of the hassles that I have to go through putting it on, washing it off, etc. Plus I’m also not the kind who’d fuss over my hair for extended period of time. So I was quite hesitant using GRIPS Hair Styling Products. I actually asked my cousin to use it, so I can get feedback from his experience and write about it. Unfortunately, he has yet to drop by my place to pick them up. What I have are GRIPS Hair Clay FX, GRIPS Hair Wax and GRIPS Hair Gel. I decided to check out the first two, being that I have yet to really use these kinds of styling products. I ...

Unique Concoctions at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt

Salted Caramel Pinkberry with Chocolate Crisps, Bananas and Italian Caramel

Another growing sector of the Philippine dining scene is frozen yogurt. Last week, not only did I get to taste unique concoctions at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop, I also got to create them myself! Along with other bloggers, I was invited to a food tasting at Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop at Greenbelt 5 and the experience was fun! Pinkberry is actually an international brand, with 2 branches in the metro, the other being at the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. Aside from the Philippines, it has branches across the United States, Canada, Morocco, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE and the United Kingdom. It was my first time to visit a Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt shop, hence, I’m not familiar with their offerings. Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by their huge order counter with a wide range of premium toppings.  When all the guests arrived and settled in, ...

Laugh Out Loud and Bounce on Your Seat with Repertory’s BOEING BOEING

Jennifer Bianco, Topper Fabregas, Carla Dunareanu, David Bianco, Giannina Ocampo, Joy Virata for Repertory's BOEING BOEING

Laugh out loud and bounce on your seat with Repertory’s BOEING BOEING. It’s the Philippine premiere theatre company’s 76th season opener, a classic ’60s sex comedy by Marc Camoletti and translated from the original 60’s-set French play by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans. I had the opportunity to attend the press preview and I couldn’t help but rave about it! I’m no stranger to Repertory Philippines theatre presentations, having watched their plays since I was a kid back when they were still playing at the Insular Life Theatre. Since then, I have enjoyed their superb performances. BOEING BOEING is no different. It tells the story of the swinging bachelor Bernard who couldn’t be happier. He owns a flat in Paris and is engaged with all three gorgeous stewardesses without knowing about each other. It’s all perfect in Bernard’s life until it gets bumpy when his friend Robert comes to stay ...

The Music of Les Miserables the Movie

Les Miserables Movie

Did you watch the Les Miserables movie already? You should. It’s a lovely movie to say the least. I have yet to write a review about it. I’m hoping to do so in this coming week. But aside from the movie, I also love the Les Miserables Movie Soundtrack. I heard that it recently topped UK charts and I’m not surprised. Along with incredible acting prowess that the cast has shown, they also sang beautifully. Some may disagree with me and I would understand. But as far as the emotions and in telling the story, acting while singing, all actors did a great job in doing so. And that is why I enjoyed the music of Les Miserables. After watching the movie, I can’t help but sing, hum or let the melody play on my mind. I’m pretty sure everyone did so. I love the lyrics, the melody and the ...

it’s good to see that e-commerce has finally caught on in the Philippines. Now there are more online shopping portal competing against the other. One of the most aggressive in promoting is Zalora, with their ad banners on every websites that I visit. Middle of this month I got interested on the stuff shown on those banner ads that i decided to visit the website. The items on Zalora are stylish. I was drawn to their shoe collection, particularly the ones for casual wear. I love the colors and the style. And when I saw that I get P250 discount on my first purchase, I made the decision to shop. After all, I still have some cash on my PayPal account. I was initially going for a sneaker that would only cost some about P700 but I will have to pay the delivery cost. I decided to go for a ...

Discovering Jelly-G Thai Milk Tea

Jelly-G Cheesy Mango

Working from home, at times I find myself wanting to go out and stay at a place I can do my task for a different ambiance. It’s a good thing that coffee shops have proliferated all the metro. The problem is, these establishments are sometimes filled with people. That leaves me with no place to sit in or the it’s too noisy I can concentrate on my tasks. My alternative are milk tea shops that is also gaining popularity in the country. But not all milk tea shops are equipped with the facilities that I need. So when I got an invite to discover Jelly-G Thai Milk Tea, I gave it a go. I have to admit I’m quite hesitant because the Jelly-G branch near my place inside Ali Mall in Cubao is just a kiosk. The branch I visited is located along Shaw Boulevard, inside 500 Shaw Centrum Mall. ...

Cars Parked on the Street or Sidewalk are Nuisance

Street Parking

There, I finally said, and I’ll say it again. Cars parked on the street or sidewalk are nuisance. I have been wanting to say this but sort brushed it off. But recently, I find it so inconvenient that I have to be very careful as I walk the street just because there are cars parked along the road. They do make the streets narrow, hence, making it difficult and unsafe for pedestrians to walk freely. That’s aside from the traffic that these parked cars could cause during rush hour. Take this photo I came across in Manila. Clearly, this is a main road but the vehicles parked are taking a big chunk of the road, almost half of it. We obviously don’t have a very solid urban planning. Heck, I would say there’s no urban planning at all. Hence we don’t have a good road system. Most of streets are ...
