Early last month, a blogger friend invited me to attend the Art, Astrology & Crystology Seminar. In all honesty, I was a bit hesitant in attending this session, primarily because it involved new age practice something that I’m not into because it contradicts my faith being a born again Christian. What made me agree to join was the component of the art. I love art, being an artist myself. I’ve done some pastel paintings and I am very much interested to learn more that I even featured some art exhibits on this blog. It would be interesting to check out the works of Juno Parungao and the JIV Manila Group.

Juno Parungao is said to be a psychologist, astrologist, crystologist, professor and painter. She is a member of the JIV Manila Art Group – a group of artists, scholars and consultant. I had the chance to meet Ms. Parungao and see her paintings at the UView of Fully Booked in Taguig during the seminar and it was equally interesting. Her works included paintings with, all done not just as a piece of art, but as a way of enhancing the “flow of life” in a person or the painting’s owner. Now, that made art interesting because it was created for a person.
Everything came together when the seminar started. Again, it focused on astrology and crystals. I went along and learned more about the colors. I am very much aware of the psychology of color. Businesses uses color to create impact; even advertising uses colors to tap into consumer consciousness. The seminar is another way of interpreting colors and using it to enhance one’s being. Here’s the summary of Basic Color Qualities taken from the Art, Astrology & Crystology Seminar.

During the seminar, Ms. Parungao explained the use of color when choosing the crystals to wear. When talking about crystals, she also means precious gems, the likes of diamonds, rubies, opal, etc. She shared that we should choose the right color of crystal for the purpose of use, avoiding red or orange in the bedroom but using these colors instead during a job interview or similar activities.

This new knowledge actually hit me and found it useful. Well, I’m not going to buy crystals nor will I observe astrology. Instead, I’m going to use the information on my daily living – what color to wear on certain occasions, which color motif to use in the different area of my house, etc. This will add more color to my life instead of sticking to similar colors. I remember having lots of items in green at home – sofa, pail, dish caddy, etc – purchased by my mom who thinks that the color brings good luck because it’s the color of money. Thanks to the Art, Astrology & Crystology Seminar, I learned something new.
