I do almost all of my business online, so it’s important that I have access to the Internet when I need, where I need it. With the evolving technology, I don’t have to bring my laptop with me wherever I go. With my smartphone, I can check and respond to email, post status on social networking sites, etc. The only challenge when bringing these gadgets is battery. My battery quickly drains out when my phone is connected to the Internet. I’m fortunate when I’m in a place where there’s access to one, bad when I’m on the move or when the place I’m staying has no or limited provision to electrical outlets. Fortunately, there’s a portable phone charger.
Carrying one is a shot in the arm for people on the go. I remember one instance when I had a Skype call which lasted for over an hour. I was at an event when the call came. Prior to that, I have been sending tweets and posting information about the event on Facebook in support for the company holding a product launch. I realized that my battery is running out when I the call came in, and I was trying to find a power socket so I can recharge my phone. The call was cut short towards the end of the call; fortunately, we were simply exchanging pleasantries at that time as we’re done with the meat of our discussion. I ended up sending my caller a message apologizing.

There was another incident when I forgot to charge my phone before leaving the house and there was no way for me to recharge because I was simply moving about from one place to another. Halfway through my day, my phone died on me. Fortunately my companion brought her portable phone charger along. Had I not recharge my phone, I would have missed a very important text message. That’s when I realized the necessity of having this gadget. I don’t have to worry about running out of battery because I can easily plug it in and I can continue doing whatever it is I need to do.
Now, I no longer worry about draining my phone because I have my portable charger with me. In fact, I’m seriously considering getting one that’s solar-powered. Although my current one has saved me from all the inconveniences, the promise of having a solar-powered portable phone charger is even better because then I don’t have to worry about plugging the charger itself. All I need is the power of the sun or maybe even a good source of light to charge it. This is particularly helpful when traveling or when in transit for very long hours which I will likely get into when I kick off my travel plans next year. I will definitely get one, I just need to find the one that fits my budget.
