I have been to ClawDaddy Restaurants’ other branches and was quite familiar with their American dishes which I always enjoyed. I looked forward to having the same experience when I recently visited ClawDaddy Robinsons Magnolia.
One thing I noticed with every ClawDaddy restaurant that I’ve been to is the different vibe, not a cookie cutter look. The Robinsons Magnolia branch has a slightly dim lighting and I like the inverted boat hanging on the ceiling. The chairs are nice too, complementing their all-red walls decorated with frames of various kind.
We started with the Classic Gumbo. It’s like a soup, only thicker and strong in flavor. It’s got some rice, okra, meat, bell pepper, etc. It was my first time to taste a Gumbo dish and I liked it; I know I could finish off a bowl of this dish.
Fried Fisherman’s Platter came along, with Shrimp Fry, Crispy Calamari, Fish Nuggets, Onion rings and Potato Fries. It comes with three dips – tartar sauce, cocktails sauce and malt vinegar sauce. I’m not really a dip or sauce person so I opted to nibble on these fried dishes all by themselves. These crispy treats are really good, enough to keep customers occupied while waiting for the other food to arrive.
Then there’s Clammy Spaghetti in white sauce. This is a good introduction to what we’re about to feast on. I love pasta, and I love seafood and I always order seafood pasta whenever I see on on the menu list. This one though is a little bland to the taste, or maybe I already tasted a lot of flavor that this dish didn’t come across that strongly to me.
Then come the Seafood Boil in a Bag! I first had this dish when I visited their Bonifacio High Street branch which became my instant favorite. Imagine having shrimps, crabs and shellfishes in one big serving. An order can serve about 4-5 people, a perfect family meal. Every Seafood Boil in a Bag is cooked in this food grade plastic bag that locks in all the flavor of the dish. ClawDaddy will never disappoint me with this dish.
We capped our meal with a fruit platter and Megashake – ClawDaddy’s fruit shake in huge goblet. We were served the watermelon shake, but it’s also available in other flavors.
The clawing continues at ClawDaddy Robinsons Magnolia, not only with my old favorite seafood items but other dishes as well. I’m sure everyone will enjoy the dining experience. If you find yourself confused as to which food to order, I suggest you check out the Family Specials.
Well, I know it can also be confusing to choose among this packaged menu, but I guess everything will just depend on your budget. I want to try their pizza next time so I’ll definitely have a Family Special with it. With all the foods thrown in, it’s worth every pesos. So bring your family and friends at ClawDaddy Robinsons Magnolia and start clawing those delicious food.
