On September 13th, I was at the Torch Restaurant in San Juan for the launch of BenQ GW Series VA LED monitors. Now, I’m not really into such technology because I’m a laptop person. I only get to use a desktop and LED monitors in my previous job where i only deal with tons of spreadsheets, slideshows, reports, documents, so I never really bothered about this technology thinking they’re all just the same. Obviously I’m basing this point of view from experience and my understanding is that it only makes a difference when it comes to size, screen size, I mean. I have to admit though that there’s a nagging feeling that I need one because I now work from home as a freelance content writer for an Australian financial company. I think having a computer monitor would give me that office vibe and keep me focused on work. But the question is, which one to buy, with all the competing brands out there. At the launch, I fell in love with these monitors as they are all really gorgeous.

BenQ’s GW Series LED monitor uses VA or vertical alignment display which produces better color and display. This is primarily because of the ultra high contrast ratio of 5000:1. To the not-so-techie like me, it simply means the blacks are really black, not grey; whites are white and not dirty white. Also, the smallest details in a photo are evident too. And because of the True 8-bit color technology, colors come alive, brighter and more saturated. Check out the video to get a better glimpse of the latest from BenQ.

I won a 22-inch BenQ GW 2250 VA LED monitor! Big thanks to BenQ Philippines! This will definitely help ease the eyestrain that I usually go through in front of my laptop monitor whenever I blog, do research and write content. I already had it installed as I write this blog and will soon write a review about it. Stay tuned!

Benq has been in the industry for quite sometime now. And its great to know that they’re venturing on new technologies. This is could also one way for them to penetrate better in this type of market. Btw, congratulations for winning the raffle, my friend.

BENQ’s problem in the local tech market is really just the pricing. I won’t take the fact that they make good monitors away from them – just that the price isn’t smart. For the price range, one can get a Samsung monitor (far more superior) and very decent AOC monitors (which I use for hardcore gaming and videos, and can handle HD) are 30-40% cheaper.

I can’t agree or disagree with you since I haven’t been in the market for monitors. But when I learned the price range of the BenQ monitors launched on this event, I was actually impressed. I’m not saying their cheap, but they’re practically priced. With a vertical alignment technology and Full HD capability, the 22-inch monitor they awarded to me during the raffle is roughly P8,000. I have a feeling that other brands offering this features will have a higher price tag. But I might be wrong… feel free to enlighten me

I used to have a Benq monitor but it got broken, don’t know what really happened except probably it has a loosed connections. I’m going to let others fix it soon coz I miss it already. This one is a LED so I know how costly it is than my old one. I love to upgrade into LED but not right now.

Well, if you have the cash flow, I would suggest getting a new one. These monitors are good investment, and they’re cheaper than some of those smartphones in the market

Congratulations for winning that BenQ monitor. You’re one lucky guy!
You know what, I share your sentiment when it comes to choosing the right brand especially for high-ticket gadgets, computers and the like. Although price is a factor I consider, I won’t mind spending a thousand or two for a brand that I trust and can guarantee the most value for my money.
